Interview with Indy Baldwin
In this first week of the new year, we’re starting with something fresh: character interviews. First up is the man who started it all: Indy Baldwin. Indy, welcome to my blog.
Yeah, well, I could hardly say no, right? But you know I’m not a fan of shit like this, so let’s keep this short. I got better things to do, like, you know, spending time with Noah.
Spending time… I assume that’s a euphemism for sex?
[snorts] As if I ever need to resort to euphemisms in my house. Fuck, have you seen the people who live here? Does even one of them look like they’re shy about sex? Nope, didn’t think so. [Read more…] about Interview with Indy Baldwin
Click aka The Virgin and the Mentor
I love stories that feature first time gay, whether the guy has never had sex with a man or never had sex at all. It’s just sweet and endearing to see him/them figure things out. Even more when they do it with a wise mentor, who selflessly sacrifices himself to help them learn. Ahem.
Anyway, that’s one of the key elements in the romance in Click, the third book in my White House Men series. Rhett, the White House photographer, is a virgin, and he decides that he’s done with that. He wants a boyfriend. Enter his boss, chief of staff Calix, who becomes his mentor…and more. How nice of him, right? Because it’s not like he could possibly have another motive…like the fact that, I don’t know, Rhett is super cute and sweet? LOL. [Read more…] about Click aka The Virgin and the Mentor
Change of Plan for White House Men Audiobooks
Sometimes, things don’t work out the way you had planned or envisioned. I had contracted a narrator for the White House Men series and he had finished the first two books. Unfortunately, they weren’t as I had these characters imagined. I’m not sure if I didn’t communicate my vision clearly enough or didn’t give enough instructions and explanations, but the end result just wasn’t what I had hoped. More Irresistible Audio News
Audible can do things in a strange order sometimes. We submitted Alpha’s Submission, book two in the Irresistible Omegas series, a week before book three, but they made book three, Beta’s Surrender, live first. Of course. Makes total sense to not listen in order, right? LOL.
Anyway, the problem is solved now since they’re now both live, narrated by the amazing John Solo. I love how he’s voicing this series. His voices for the main four especially are spot on. I’m so happy I asked him to do this project! [Read more…] about More Irresistible Audio News
Teaser from Click
I was telling someone the other day that the writing part of my job never feels like work to me. Every time I sit behind my keyboard (or microphone in case I’m dictating), I’m excited to get back into the story. That’s even more true when I love a book or series as much as I do the White House Men. As someone who’s always been fascinated by the White House and the people who live and work there, this is such an amazing series to work on. I get to use my love for The West Wing, for Designated Survivor, for The American President, and more and create my own fictional White House… The gayest White House ever, haha.
I’ve also done a crap ton of research (and I’m still reading a lot of books on this topic and related ones, like about the FBI, the Secret Service, counterterrorism, and more…), and it’s all fascinating to me. I can’t use it all in the books, of course, since that would make them more instructional and non fiction than romantic suspense, but every now and then I get to drop little tidbits in that I learned, and I love it.
