When a Dream Comes True…

I wanted to be a writer since I was fourteen years old. I still have them, the stories I typed on my mom’s typewriter, painstakingly fixing mistakes with that white stuff I can’t remember the name of. They’re adorable, filled with teen angst and hopelessly romantic events. I smile every time I read them, because they’re so sweet…and they were the very first beginning of my writing career. Author Spotlight on Gay Book Promotions

I was honored to be in the ‘Author Spotlight’ over on Gay Book Promotions to talk about myself, and my upcoming release No Filter:

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a single mom who decided to finally realize her dream to become a fiction writer. I’ve published non-fiction books under a different name (both traditionally published and self published), but writing stories has always had my heart. I’m super excited I’m now finally doing this! No Filter Blurb

You’ve hopefully seen the gorgeous cover for my steamy M/M romance that’s coming out around October 26th. It’s the first in the No Shame Series, and it’s not a stand alone…We’ll be following our two leading men, Indy and Noah, throughout the whole series, but each book will also feature a different couple. There will be some happy-for-nows along the way, but I promise a big, fat happy end at the end of the series!

You put so much of yourself in those words, aside from all the blood, sweat, and tears, that submitting all that to someone else’s judgment is horrifying. At least, it is to me.

To me, there’s a thin line between what I write and who I am. Maybe over time, I will develop thicker skin, but I’ve heard and seen many writers express the same sentiments. There’s even a word for it, though it doesn’t specifically relate to writers only: Imposter Syndrome. It’s described as the constant fear of being exposed as a fraud. When One Book Became Four…

About a year ago, I had an idea for a book. I’d completely fallen in love with the gay romance genre, and I came up with a solid premise for a story. At least, I thought it was gonna be one book. Turns out, the story kept developing, and one book became four.

I’m now in the editing phase and hoping to release all four titles later this year. The tentative series title is the No Shame series. Expect hot, kinky sex, real emotions, and a few twists you won’t see coming!
