Nora Reviews: MM Romance Connected Series

June 7, 2018 by Nora 2 Comments

Like many readers, I love me some series. Maybe it’s because you can completely immerse yourself into a world with multiple books set in the same place, or because you get to really live with characters through high and lows, I don’t know.

I have a special fondness for connected series, where each book builds on the previous one, meaning they have to be read in order. My own No Shame series is a connected MM romance series, and so is the new Irresistible Omegas series. So in today’s edition of Nora reviews, here are four MM romance connected series I absolutely love. This is by no means a complete list, haha.

thirds series coverTHIRDS series – Charlie Cochet

I’ve mentioned this series before, but it’s so freaking good. It combines sexy romance with paranormal elements (shifters, but a special kind), kick-ass action, hot scenes, and strong plotting. In the first few books, the THIRDS series focuses on the same couple with in a special police team (kinda like a SWAT team, but to fight shifter-bad guys, so more bad ass), but after that, we see lovely new romances bloom between other team members. Highly, highly recommended. Not in KU sadly, but well worth the price.

bound gods coverBound Gods series – Adrienne Wilder

This is another title I think I’ve mentioned before. This series is a crazy ride, but man, I love it. It’s set in a fantasy world where gods rule and have access to doxies (basically sex servants). But the gods’ order is being threatened, and the future is uncertain for both gods and doxies. The Bound Gods series combines super hot scenes with a wide range of BDSM with intrigue and action. It’s super addictive and I can’t wait to read the next installments. there are eight books out now with two more to come, I believe. There’s a ton of dub con in here, some non con, and also pretty “heavy” kink, so if that’s not your cup of tea, you may wanna skip this one.

taoree series coversTaoree Series – Michele Notaro

This series is one hell of a ride, but damn, it’s good. It combines science fiction (aliens!) with fast-paced action and sweet romance. I can’t say too much without giving away spoilers, but the Taoree books are super special. There may be a spin off at some point, and I’m all for it, ’cause while the series ends on a satisfying happy end, there’s enough uncertain to keep it going with different characters. This series does contain violence and death, so be warned.

metahuman files coverMetaHuman Files – Hailey Turner

I still have to read the last two released books in the MetaHuman Files series, but the first three were awesome. These books combine military guys with science fiction, fast-paced action, steamy hot scenes, and a heartfelt romance. Like some of the other series I recommended, there’s violence here, so make sure to read the blurb carefully.

I only realized after I made this list that three of the four are a combination of action and romance. Hmm, does that mean I prefer those or is it because most connected series have some kind of suspense/action element? Could be either.

Any suggestions? What are some MM romance connected series you love?

I just discovered The Rowan Harbor Cycle by Sam Burns. There are four books out, and five more planned. It has three couples, and each couple gets three books, alternating (Couple 1 gets books 1, 4 and 7; Couple 2 gets books 2, 5 and 8; Couple 3 gets books 3, 6 and 9). All three couples are read-worthy, and there’s an overarching mystery/supernatural war running throughout, so it’s definitely a connected series! Plus it’s just a good read, with fae and shifters and vampires. I would definitely recommend it.
